24 cars will start Pocket Change Race main event. Guaranteed $200 to start. We can still take position sponsorships as a few certain positions can be combined to make room, though we would need something like $250 or more at this point to ensure that lower paying positions don't get bumped up when we'd rather have higher paying positions get bumped down.

We also received good amounts of change or cash over time from our friends with the Wingless Sprint Series, Cottage Grove Speedway and Eagle Track Promotions.

This year's Pocket Change Race is the 10th edition. The first one was in 2010, paying $788 to win, paying all coins to win the race. The original idea I had was to sponsor a dash race for a mere $50 and I figured I'd just collect the coins I had lying all around. I hadn't even told anyone yet I was doing that when I saw I was close to $100 already, and I just decided to make let it grow, make it a main event prize and see what happens. The winner of the race gets paid entirely in the coins collected year round! After that first Pocket Change Race there were a couple of down years (and not held at all) before I rededicated myself to it starting with 2015. The prior record for change is $2,227 won by Darren Brown in 2019. With the change almost taking care of itself now, additional focus has been on collecting cash to pay the rest of the field also. Last year's race, held at River City Speedway in St. Helens, Oregon and won by Josh Rodgers, was the first in which I paid the entire A-Main field myself, paying $200 to start when it is usually around that much to win a dwarf car race in the Northwest. Willamette Speedway is hosting the event for the first time this year.
